HE Simm Expands Industrial Portfolio

Over the last ten years HE Simm have successfully delivered over 1.5 million ft2. of industrial space and recently we have expanded these capabilities further with the successful delivery of three schemes in the North West.

Our recently completed works that Alpha 2 for BCEGI Construction saw the delivery of a new build warehouse scheme at Airport City, which formed the second largest-scale industrial unit to be built at the site. HE Simm delivered the full MEP services to the scheme, providing 12,500m2. of space designed to meet occupier demand for small to medium units.  Alpha 2 is playing a role in the £800m Airport City development which will form one of the most significant regeneration schemes in the UK since the 2012 Olympics.

Alongside Alpha 2 HE Simm worked in partnership with Pochin Construction to successfully deliver Trafford Point, comprising of 22,000m2. of office and warehouse space across two buildings. The project, on the site of a former oil storage depot, sits in the world’s first purpose built industrial park.  The scheme achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating and provided 7.5m cubic feet of space, equivalent to 2,000 double decker buses.

In January, we commenced works on our most prestigious industrial scheme at Jaguar Land Rover, Halewood, to deliver the Full Design and Build MEP works to the MP & L Building. Working collaboratively with Kier Construction the project sees the delivery on an extension of the building to provide 22,210m2 of manufacturing and storage space, including an internal mezzanine floor and connection to the sequencing hall.

All works conducted at Jaguar Land Rover were on a ‘live’ site to ensure we met the 16 week tight programme. We employed over 90% of our supply chain and workforce from the local area.

HE Simm will be delivering BIM Level 2 to the JLR project utilising Kier’s BIMXtra platform to enable multidisciplinary model federation for coordination and asset management. The design process employed Point Cloud Survey Data to create Revit models using existing services to ensure accurate coordination and seamless integration of M&E services to the new extension.

These projects are a testament to our reputation for working collaboratively with our key clients and delivering excellence.
