HE Simm were selected to deliver Full Design & Build MEP Services to a 728 bed student accommodation development known as the ‘Eco Residencies’. The university as an organisation are keen on reducing energy, metering and sustainability. The MEP Services were designed with this in mind from the outset. Solar Thermal Hot Water, Rainwater Harvesting, Extensive Air Source Heat Pump, LED Lighting, PIRs Lighting Controls/Extensive Energy Metering linked to BMS were all used as a means of establishing a lower energy building, and gaining an Excellent BREEAM Rating and minimum 15% on site LZC/Renewable Requirement.
