Located adjacent to the Digbeth branch canal, Alumno’s new £30 million ‘Eastside Locks’ development provides bespoke student accommodation in the heart of Birmingham city centre. Building services providers HE Simm undertook the Design and Build MEP services for this development which provides 659 beds in the form of  ensuite bedrooms in clusters of 2-8 rooms; as well as common rooms, a retail unit and ground floor office space.

HE Simm delivered Hot & Cold water systems, gas, heating, cooling, mechanical ventilation, sprinkler system, dry risers, smoke extract systems, above ground drainage, rainwater pipework, BMS, thermal insulation, LV switchgear & distribution, rising busbar, general & emergency lighting, small power, structured cabling, TV, access control, video intercom, CCTV, fire alarm & detection, earth bonding, lightning protection, disabled alarm, induction loop, metering & electric heating.
