Lawrence has devoted his working life to creating and developing the HE Simm business for over 49 years. Lawrence provides business strategic planning for all our business activities, and actively seeks methods of further improving our already excellent service levels for clients. With Lawrence’s vast experience, continuing drive and enthusiasm, he provides ongoing advice and best practice approach for all our business team leaders. Lawrence’s commitment to the highest safety, quality, training and environmental practices is embedded within all our operations, and his continual strive for excellence provides clients proof of HE Simm’s strive for continued excellence.
Gareth Simm – Managing Director
Gareth was appointed Managing Director in March 2010 with responsibility for the business activities across the UK. Throughout his 20 years with the company,Gareth has taken on increasing levels of strategic leadership and financial oversight and has been the catalyst behind the growth strategy. He is a proven business leader and by nature is driven by excellence in client service and continual improvements in delivery. He provides direct leadership qualities which each of the business leaders respect and aspire to achieve and improve upon.
John Lennie – UK Director
John works closely with Gareth Simm and our Strategic Leadership Team on all business operations throughout the UK. Based at various centres from London, Warrington and our Liverpool Head Office, John strives to continuously develop the company and to achieve this through strategic planning, sustainable and planned growth by promoting best practice initiatives, HESQ improvements, developing cohesive design delivery and supply chain integration, enhancing aspects of business delivery, strengthening our relationships with key clients and increasing our turnover and profitability as planned. Prior to joining HE Simm, John’s career has spanned some 36 years resulting in various Executive positions – starting his apprenticeship at Haden Young LTD, leading on to various Project Manager and Contracts Manager positions at both Matthew Hall and Sulzer and Board Director at Rotary; as well as owning and developing his own business interests for several years. John’s capabilities, coupled with his experience of delivering very successfully large MEPH contracting organisations, and some of the largest PFI schemes in the country provides HE Simm with exceptional leadership and direction.
Eddie Molnar – Non-Executive Director
With 40 years’ experience in the building services industry, Eddie is a skilled and qualified Non-Executive Director. Reporting to the Managing Director, he works closely with the Strategic Leadership Team to develop and implement HE Simm’s Business Development Strategy, and with the Board assisting in the identification and management of any key risks in order to best structure the company for sustainable growth. He also supports the development of talent within the business by providing mentoring and coaching to key personnel. Eddie has held senior management positions at some of the industry’s leading companies. After beginning his career at Balfour Kilpatrick as a Graduate Trainee, he progressed to become CEO of Lorne Stewart PLC and Southern Operations Director of Crownhouse Technologies.
Greg Simm – Operations Director
Greg has an extensive track record in all project sectors with over 15 years experience in the industry. As Operations Director Greg provides great leadership, advice and knowledge to his team. Greg is very hardworking, professional, conscientious and dedicated to his projects to make sure deadlines are met and projects are run on time to budget.
Jean Simm – Finance Director
Jean has worked with Lawrence and Graham for over 35 years and provides complete financial accounting and cost management throughout the business operations. Jean works closely with Gareth in determining business forecasts and determines values associated with training and appointment of apprentices/technicians which provides resources sustainability for both the business and our clients. Jean promotes the company excellence in training, quality, environmental and best practices by providing accounting systems and practices to provide for these essential business aspects.
Martyn Simm – Accounts Director
Martyn Simm has almost 20 years working in accountancy and finance. Martyn is an important member of our Strategic Leadership Team and aligns our reporting systems with the various departmental heads. Martyn allows for continual sustained business expansion through planning and control, which enables our graduate training, apprenticeship work programmes and charitable endeavours to flourish. He is responsible for IT investment, fleet management and communication systems, which enables the business to be versatile and responsive through market leading IT systems and integration, together with supporting infrastructure and future proofed-capacity. Martyn aligns himself very closely with our Supply Chain Department and procurement systems, which provides for transaction ease and scaled economy. He fully supports our Focus 30 collaboration initiatives and continuously seeks innovative methods to add continual improvement and efficiency.
Graham Simm – Director
Graham has devoted his working life creating and developing the HE Simm business for over 40 years with Lawrence and Jean. Graham is a vastly experienced Director, gained through many years of engineering and proven project delivery, and he provides best use of these extensive engineering skills and techniques by working closely with all our delivery teams and team leaders in improving all aspects of our project delivery, quality, together with resource management. Graham’s ongoing commitment to the highest safety, quality, training and environmental practice is delivered throughout all our operations.
Ian Bruce – Operations Director
Ian has over 31 years of vast experience in all sectors of the M&E services industry, from heavy engineering right through the spectrum to large residential schemes, and was involved in many of the early large multi-occupation student accommodation schemes for several of the university bodies and privately funded schemes. Ian possesses excellent organisational and delivery skills and believes in offering the best value for money for clients.
Peter O’Keeffe – Work Winning Director
With over 24 years’ experience in MEPH design, Peter has an extensive portfolio of business success across all sectors. Initially from an MEPH Consultancy background, Peter’s technical expertise enables him to precisely understand and successfully interpret our Client’s goals and technically align the scheme objectives. Peter provides clear and effective leadership to our dynamic Work Winning team to ensure that these fundamental principles are fulfilled and that client’s expectations are exceeded. Peter openly collaborates with our clients, sharing best practice models and delivering continual performance improvements and refinement.
Anthony Melia – Health and Safety Director
Anthony is an industry-qualified and accomplished HESQ professional with over 20 years’ experience working in the construction industry. His expertise in Health and Safety Management and understanding of regulations associated with MEPH works provides continual business benefit, which is shared with client teams and provides for continual improvement in HESQ. Anthony continually drives the development, improvement and implementation of our HESQ policies, working cohesively with our sector clients to ensure standards are maintained and complied with. He manages our Quality Systems, ISO audits and accreditations, HESQ training and the development of accident and incident reduction strategies. Anthony’s relentless drive and enthusiasm to create safe, environmentally-friendly workplaces, coupled with high levels of collaboration and integration of best practice, runs through all of our business activities and teams. His team works alongside our Operational Teams to deliver continual improvement. Anthony contributes significant time and effort to our Focus 30 initiatives and shares improved practice with our supply chain partners which creates an ethos of continual improvement and best practice delivery.
David Went – Operations Director
David has over 35 years of experience in all sectors of the M&E services industry both in the UK and latterly in the Middle East, and has held senior positions in a number of major M&E contracting companies. He is a very pragmatic individual and has excellent organisational and delivery skills. David has worked in a broad variety of sectors including Residential, Health, Education, Leisure and Infrastructure and has led on high-level contracts with values of up to £100 million.
